I suggest:

 The command mcdp is used for playing audio CDs. It has a curses-like user 
interface and is fairly simple
       to use.

OPTIONS
       There is only one option, to give the CD device, e.g. /dev/cdrom2.

Rationale: correct punctuation and spelling, and remove tautological
"optional option".
