I applied the patch to the xconv.pl script on the "stable" machine, reran the conversion and got this warning:
"Must specify server args if using NAMEINARGS flag" (repeated 5 times; all services involved are disabled)
Removing the flag from the config file apparently let Amanda run fine, so I guess Javier got the fix almost right 8-)
