I'm afraid I purged the package, otherwise the rest of the system would not update. I'm pretty sure it's the same bug, though: nothing else calls md5sum, and I was upgrading from a version that did not have 31_aide_aptitude_frqchg yet, so all other md5sum calls before it succeeded.
