Package: dansguardian Version: 2.8.0.6-antivirus-6.4.4.1-1 I am running dansguardian on an etch install, with virus-scanning disabled. It seems to proxy web pages just fine for web-browsing, and serves up files when using wget with http_proxy set properly.
However, when operating as an http proxy for apt, many zero-length files are downloaded, causing bzip2 failures. This occurs during "apt-get update"; and in other uses of apt. As a workaround, I have set up the apt-cacher proxy for use with apt, and this works well enough. However, this was not necessary with my previous server setup using sarge and dansguardian. The malfunctioning with apt appears to be a regression relative to sarge. I am running kernel 2.6.18-3-686 #1 SMP Mon Dec 4 16:41:14 UTC 2006 i686 The apt version is 0.6.46.4. Thanks, James R.
