Package: alpine Version: 0.82+dfsg-3 Severity: wishlist Please support PASSFILE. I suggest ~/.alpine-passwd. The UW team are dogmatic about not making this feature configurable, but even if it's compiled in, it can be switched off by the site administrator or by the user, or the user can simply not create the file and it will not be used. Hence, it's entirely compatible with safe defaults, and for users like me on personal computers who need to use a password to access their SMTP and/or incoming server, it's a real time-saver. (This feature is compiled in by default on PC-PINE, which is a mystery to me, since these days a Windows system is just as likely to be multi-user as a Linux system.)
