I would like to do this, but then it doesn't do the right thing with
older versions of debiandoc2ps where -1 isn't the default. I think
debiandoc2sgml should continue to support the -1 option for at least
one release cycle after it's deprecated.
Since it's still in the manual, it's not clear that the removal of the
option is (yet) intentional.
I will reassign this bug to debiandoc-sgml. I'd be grateful if the
debiandoc-sgml author would let me know how long 1-up output has been
the default; if it's sufficiently long then I will remove the option
from my build script.
There probably ought to be a separate bug in debiandoc-sgml regarding
the documentation inconsistency. Have you filed one ?
