Package: dibbler-server Version: 0.4.2.dfsg-2 Severity: important I'm running Debian in VMWare server on a Win2K machine for testing purposes. We have some DHCPv6 clients that we are testing, and I tried reproducing one bug using dibbler. Previously, wide-dhcpv6-server had worked fine for this job. However, dibbler-server ignores all DHCPv6 solicit messages, and prints "Option type 8 invalid" in the log.
This seems very weird, since RFC3315 describes option type 8 (elapsed time) and says it should be part of all DHCPv6 messages. Thus, if dibbler would reject all packets with option 8, it would have to ignore all solicit messages, which I find hard to believe. There might be some problem with running it on VMWare, I guess. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.4.27-3-386 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages dibbler-server depends on: ii debconf 1.4.30.13 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.1.1-21 GCC support library ii libstdc++6 4.1.1-21 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 Versions of packages dibbler-server recommends: ii dibbler-doc 0.4.2.dfsg-2 documentation for dibbler -- debconf information: * dibbler-server/start: true dibbler-server/title: * dibbler-server/config: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
