The module "lirc_sir" works fine the first time. After a suspend/resume (either ACPI sleep or a hibernate), the device does not give any output. In case this helps I have an IBM thinkpad R51. I believe the problem is with the driver module and not the physical device since if I load the "nsc_ircc" module instead of the "lirc_sir" module then it suspends/resumes fine. (But I want lirc and not irda :-).
