Package: hybserv
Version: 1.9.2-4
Severity: normal

I need to be able to telnet to hybserv to automate some tasks
P::3232:users

Here are two different scenarios where hybserv fails to handle telnet properly:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On one network, hybserv can't deal at all:
Kernel 2.6.18-4-k7 #1 SMP
Interfaces: lo, ath0, eth0, eth1, tap0(vpn), wc0(vpn)
Routing table: lo, ath0 (default), eth0, eth1, tap0, wc0(349 entries!)
Wed Mar 14 19:24:09 2007 Listener successfully started on host [*] port tcp/3232
Wed Mar 14 19:24:09 2007 FATAL: Unable to bind port tcp/3232: Address already
in use
...
Wed Mar 14 19:32:00 2007 FATAL: Unable to bind port tcp/3232: Address already
in use
Wed Mar 14 19:32:00 2007 FATAL: Unable to bind port tcp/3232: Address already
in use
Wed Mar 14 19:32:00 2007 Giving up attempt to bind port [3232]

and telnet connections to it (from any interface, including lo) hang, forever :(

now if I set V:127.0.0.1, then I can connect from there - but I can't
tell which of the interfaces the request will be comming from... So I
can't force it :(

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On another network, it actually starts talking:
Kernel 2.6.18 #4 PREEMPT
Interfaces: lo, eth0, tap0(vpn)
Routing table: lo, eth0(default), tap0
Wed Mar 14 18:46:51 2007 Listener successfully started on host [127.0.0.1] port
tcp/3232
<<-- interesting that here, it chose 127.0.0.1 without a V: line

Connected to localhost.localdomain.
