Before uploading version 0.4.3 I tested bbpager on a system using blackbox and fluxbox. It worked fine using the -w option. No wild expansion of the slit. Upstream also mentioned that he thought this new release would solve that problem.
Upon receipt of the email today from Scott, I tested bbpager 0.4.3 on yet another system where I actively use fluxbox. On that system I did experience the overexpanding slit. A workaround I discovered is to start bbpager, watch the slit overexpand, and then restart blackbox (or fluxbox) from the right-click screen menu. This resizes the slit back down to just fit whatever is in it, including bbpager. Now, why does it overexpand on some systems, and not others? I've no clue at the moment. The system that worked cleanly for me was a more recently installed version of blackbox, although both are version 0.70.1. Scott, are you using blackbox or fluxbox? And what version? Does the workaround work for you? I'll bring this up with upstream again. The more clues we can provide the better.
