I can confirm that at least with unchanged xdvi.cfg files (in tetex and
texlive) adding this stanza *does* create a correctly located
/etc/texmf/xdvi/xdvi.cfg.
(cowbuilder, install tetex, install texlive/2005, install texlive/2007
with hacked preinst file)
