Yes, my system is Sarge. Productive system, HA (samba + ldap),
~200 user, ~1TB hdd (user's data).

Vmware server, 2 virtual machine (Etch samba + ldap and Windows
XP). Working good.
Of course the smbclient good working in Sarge too...
