Thanks - it helps me out some but "man 5 proc" which I grabbed from unstable 
says: "/proc/sys/fs/suid_dumpable (since Linux 2.6.13)" which gives me a 
problem since I'm on sarge with a 2.6.8 kernel.

Do you have any pointers on getting exim4 to dump core without a kernel 
upgrade? I can do it as a last resort with a backports.org kernel if needed but 
would prefer to avoid this.
