Yes, that was due to beagled. My guess is that any failed process causes the splash to stay.
Do you have the loopback interface properly configured (can ping localhost/127.0.0.1)? Can you ping the address "172.17.xx.xx" from the log?
Yes I can ping lo.And 172.17.xx.xx is my remote X client and it's accessible.
