Could you give it a try again ? I have a couple of positive reports
for this backend, so I'd really like to find out what's happening with
your scanner.

It could caused by wrong settings in the frontend you used, so could
you try to obtain a scan with scanimage > foo.pnm (so that the
default values are used) ?

Please run "SANE_DEBUG_HP4200=255 scanimage > foo.pnm", so we get a
log on the first try, in case the scanner makes funny noise again :)
