I got struck by this as well today. The bug cited earlier (#252144) is irrelevant, it refers to the 'apsfilter' package. The blocking bug #400952 makes for truly dismal reading. Anyone who is going down to run level 1 and back should really not be depending on having NIS around throughout, or even networking. Please can we get some action on this bug.
