Package: foomatic-gui Version: 0.7.7 When I configure my HP laserjet printer I am recommended to use the "Postscript using manufacturer PPD file" driver. However, after choosing the driver when pressing Apply I get the following error message:
Unable to retrieve PPD file from PPD/HP/mono_laser/hp_LaserJet_2300.ppd Investigating the python code foomatic-gui seems to use the ppd tag from the HP-LaserJet_2300.xml file in the foomatic database. But this only gives a relative URL: PPD/HP/mono_laser/hp_LaserJet_2300.ppd instead of the full URL which is: http://openprinting.org/foomatic-db/db/source/PPD/HP/mono_laser/hp_LaserJet_2300.ppd thus the download fails. I'm not sure if this should be considered a bug in foomatic-db of foomatic-gui, however I'll report it for foomatic-gui, as this is where I noticed it.
