Package: zangband Version: 2.7.4b Severity: normal I have not reproduced this issue with the Debian package. I'm reporting this bug to Debian anyway because upstream's BTS is unpleasant.
I unpacked the zangband 2.7.4b source tarball, compile it and ran it in-place (i.e. with no "make install" step). I note that lib/apex/scores.raw is updated each time my character dies (based on file timestamp), but always remains a zero-byte file. Copying z_scores.raw to scores.raw makes zangband see the example high scores, and the timestamp changes on death, but the file contents do not. This was done in my home directory, $HOME is on an NFS filesystem. Moving the directory tree to /var/tmp (on an XFS filesystem) caused high scores to work correctly. In the Debian package, the score file is stored in /var. While unlikely, it is theoretically possible for /var to be an NFS partition. Therefore this bug MAY affect Debian's zangband package in unusual circumstances. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
