Bug#157305: start-stop-daemon: spurious error message when using --pidfile and --retry together

Just to say that this still appears to be a problem in dpkg 1.13.25 (I
used the --name workaround).   With a retry of 10 seconds, the process
died around the 5th second at which point the error message was
displayed.
