In latest erlang (version 11.b.4) the binary modules interface was changed, so erlang update has broken some erlang related packages like ejabberd. Unfortunately, new ejabberd build (1.1.2-7), which is available in unstable, cannot proceed to testing because it waits for new glibc to be promoted to testing. The workaround for ejabberd in testing is to rebuild it from source package using new erlang (downgrading erlang will help too).
