Comments/Problems:
As with previous sarge rc2 installations, installation itself went fine.
However I have still problems with the graphics resolutions (as reported in #275697: xserver-xfree86: [debconf] resolutions higher than 800x600 not used <http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=275697>) and problems with the keymap.
While I had installed rc2 with German keymap and English language (see error report #274725: german keyboard problem <http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=274725>), I installed rc3
with German keymap and Gernam langauge.
Despite selecting German keymap during installation, after initial boot English keymap was installed.
I made the following observation:
- When selecting in KDE control center the german keymap, the keymap changed to gernam until next reboot. After reboot again the english keymap was used, while in KDEs control center the Gernan keymap was still dispalyed as selected. When removing the german keymap setting
in KDEs control center and re-installing the german keymap again, the Ggrman keymap became used again until next reboot.
- When selecting Gnome instead of KDE, after boot also the english keymap was used. When switching to german keymap in Gnome Keymap manager, the keymap was switched as expected to german. Unlike in KDE, after reboot and restart of Gnome desktop the german keymap remained active.
