This is very strange, and I'm running out of ideas. Can you try the
following, to see if it helps?

  # rm /usr/lib/libtorrent.so.10 /usr/lib/libtorrent.so.10.0.4
  (to make sure the new one gets installed)

  $ wget 
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/libt/libtorrent/libtorrent10_0.11.4-1_i386.deb

  $ md5sum libtorrent10_0.11.4-1_i386.deb
  (this should output 3ed82f8d4acc93f08a4facda6e46de79)

  # dpkg -i libtorrent10_0.11.4-1_i386.deb

  $ md5sum /usr/lib/libtorrent.so.10*
  (this should output, as said before, 3dc81e4136a6ebe4e34bbc5f962dcba7)
