I have the same problem in stable (etch). Cannot do "proftpd reload" or
send a SIGHUP to proftpd.
# ps ax | grep proftpd
4190 ? Ss 0:00 proftpd: (accepting connections)
4599 pts/0 R+ 0:00 grep proftpd
# kill -HUP 4190
# ps ax |grep proftpd
4601 pts/0 S+ 0:00 grep proftpd
Instead of reloading the configuration, it just dies.
# proftpd -v
- ProFTPD Version 1.3.0
The dpkg version is 1.3.0-19
