e-d-s is slow at times, but shouldn't be _that_ slow. On my laptop,
ekiga is slower then evolution, but it only takes about one second per

long that takes? It's also interesting to know if the addressbook was
created by ekiga, or if the addressbook originally was created in
evolution.

I guess it's ekiga that created it. I think I had evolution installed a few years ago, but I purged it.

I have apt-get install(ed) evolution, and creating a new contact there is more or less instant.
