The issue referred to in that page appears to be the lack of
AllowSupplementaryGroups, rather than any difference between the use of
true/yes.
clamd.conf(5) specifies that any of yes/no, 1/0 and true/false are valid
settings for boolean configuration items so there should be no difference
between "AllowSupplementaryGroups yes" and "AllowSupplementaryGroups true"
(indeed, my configuration file uses true/false throughout without issue).
