According to the -V255 out the segfault occurs in close_md() from md.c. The gdb backtrace suggests the problem is with mhash_deinit() for MHASH_WHIRLPOOL. Since aide has already scanned several files, I suspect a problem with libmhash. Try taking the whirlpool hash out of the group definitions.
