Package: libboost-filesystem-dev Version: 1.34.0-1 Severity: important
Hello, it seems like recently, the non -st, -mt links were removed. This breaks backwards compatibility with previous versions of the boost packages and also compatibility with other commonly used versions of the boost library. I am working on a software project across Debian and RedHat machines. On the RedHat machines, as was previously the case on the Debian machines, -lboost_filesystem would work just fine. Now, I can't compile the software on the Debian machine any more. Adjusting the build files for the Debian machines will break them for the RedHat machines, since there are no -st or -mt versions available. Now I could manually add symlinks in my /usr/lib directory, but that'd be quite gross and judging from related bugreports ( #425992, #424038 ), maybe it would be wise to keep the boost packages working for everyone...
