When shooting left, or down  bullets go up/down at 45 degrees instead  
of tracking the mouse pointer as they do when aiming right or up, 
with pixel-perfect left-aiming I can fire horizontally or verticallt
down but only with the cursor pointing at the player sprite.

while shooting left moving the cursor left and right aims the bullets
up or down, it's as-if the X and Y coordinates are confounded somehow.
