With gnome-panel 2.10.1 from experimental, I have some odd menu entries:
Applications/Multimedia/xine
Desktop/Multimedia/xine
Desktop/Multimedia/xine
Desktop/Internet/Pan Newsreader
Yes, that is three copies of xine, alongside the other one correctly
positioned in Applications/Sound&Video/xine.
I believe the Xine problem is a bug caused by xine having entries in
both /usr/share/gnome/apps/Multimedia/xine.desktop
and /usr/share/applnk/Multimedia/xine.desktop.
