Package: grub-pc Version: 1.95+20070604-1 --- Please enter the report below this line. --- The problem seems already to exist with grub2, since the test below is made with grub2 1.95-5 (i.e. I don't know, since which version this problem exists). I remeber, that I had problems to get this version installed, too. I had to boot another live-system without evms support, mount a normal volume as /, chroot, mount /boot and then grub-install did its work (i.e. succesfully installed stage 1). Afterwards it was no problem to set the root via kernel commandline in grub.conf to an evms volume.
