Attached, no additional command line arguments, just a simple kinit or kinit <principal> will cause this behavior. I'm using SRV records for defining the servers, pam_krb5.so works fine.

I am afraid I am not able to reproduce this. In my tests I see no TXT
requests or HOSTNAME requests.

What command line parameters did you supply to kinit?

Also a copy of /etc/krb5.conf would be useful too.
