Package: gnome-media Version: 2.8.0-0.2 Severity: normal File: /usr/bin/gnome-volume-control
Here is the situation: I am running Debian sid on Toshiba Tecra 8000 laptop with Yamaha sound card. Recently (~08.04.2005), when I upgraded the distribution with apt-get dist-upgrade I got the following problem: All my mixer settings are no longer available. I still can adjust the PCM, microphone, synth, iGain, etc, but Volume, Bass, Tremble - disappeared. I tried all my working perfectly before kernels: 2.4.26, 2.4.27 I also compiled latest kernel 2.4.30 - no luck. I tried with the 2.6.9 - no luck either, and finally I compiled 2.6.11 - same story. I changed the distribution to sarge(unstable) to see if that will bring me any hopes, but I am still stuck with very low quality sound. I am using gstreamer2.8.0-0.2 and libgstreamer2.8.0-0.2, and all related packages, that came with the last update. Before I got Volume, Bass, Tremble in a sub menu in the gnome-volume-control called MPU401. Now I do not have that. I do have all the necessary kernel support set up right. dmesg extract: ... ad1848/cs4248 codec driver Copyright (C) by Hannu Savolainen 1993-1996 opl3sa2: chipset version = 0x5 opl3sa2: Found OPL3-SA3 (YMF715E or YMF719E) <OPL3-SA3> at 0x538 irq 5 dma 1,0 <MS Sound System (CS4231)> at 0x534 irq 5 dma 1,0 <MPU-401 0.0 Midi interface #1> at 0x330 irq 5 dma -1,0 YM3812 and OPL-3 driver Copyright (C) by Hannu Savolainen, Rob Hooft 1993-1996 <Yamaha OPL3> at 0x388 ... -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
