> least for me, but I guess it would be also good for most people).I disagree, pdnsd can be used as a recursive resolver, and in that case, you want it to recurse, and not your ISP DNS, if your ISP allow you to query things on the port 53. In the sample config file, proxy_only=on is advertised for ISP/PPP/... server blocks, and it makes sense to apply it only for those blocks.
