A compiled version in text format is actually shipped in
xml-howto.txt.gz and xml-ref.txt.gz.

python-xml is installed quite widely so I am a bit relunctant to waste
disk space for a PDF version.  Removing the LaTeX source sounds like a
good option to avoid further confusion.
