I had this same problem on my system. The problem was caused by the following entry in /etc/udev/compat.rules:
KERNEL=="ttyS[0-9]*", SYMLINK+="%k" This rule had been necessary to access the serial ports on my system in earlier versions of udev. Commenting the rule out and rebooting fixed the problem for me. -- Bill Thompson [EMAIL PROTECTED]
