xserver-xorg would bring in a massive range of extra packages via the
Recommends: on xserver-xorg-video-all:
Only on initial install (which it does most of the time anyway through
the depends options unless the conflict resolver gets involved or there
was an incomplete removal before or similar)
As I understand it the intent of reccomends is "should be installed
unless the admin decides otherwise". Since we don't have an automated
way of deciding which packages to install based on the users hardware
drivers imo fall into this category.
