Package: gosa
Version: 2.5.6-2.1
Severity: normal
I installed Gosa on a system running Apache2 and libapache2-mod-php5.
When I create a samba account from Gosa and press "save" button, the web
server stops responding. Using top I found that one apache2 instance
memory usage raises to about 1 GB. Apache2 error log displays a lot of
"Virtual memory exhausted" errors.
Sometimes after 30 seconds the web server gives me the error page
"Maximum execution time exceeded at line 185 of
/usr/share/gosa/include/class_sambaMungedDial.inc". Line 185 calls the
php function "recode".
I removed php5-recode ("aptitude purge php5-recode") package and let
aptitude to install php4-recode instead, so that Gosa package
dependencies are satisfied.
This way the problem is fixed.
I suppose Gosa doesn't like php5 recode function, although package
dependencies allow to install php4 or php5 version.
