I'm trying to get rid of the old library liblzo1, which your package depends on. Nothing in your package uses it, however, so it's just libtool craziness or something that creates all these library dependencies. I added LDFLAGS += -Wl,--as-needed to the rules file, which shortened the dependency list significantly.
