Package: kernel-source Version: 2.6.11-1 On compiling kernel-source-2.6.11-1 with or without kernel-patch-debian-2.6.11-3, using current make-kpkg, as i have since kernel 2.4 days, i get the following error.
arch/i386/kernel/process.c:14:20: stdarg.h: No such file or directory make[2]: *** [arch/i386/kernel/process.o] Error 1 make[1]: *** [arch/i386/kernel] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.11' make: *** [stamp-build] Error 2 kernel-source 2.6.10-x still builds fine. a bit of intermittent trawling (2 weeks worth...) found the following fix which worked for me. export GCC_EXEC_PREFIX=/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-linux/3.3.5/ Is it a kernel or gcc problem (or me) ? Clearly it is a bit of a kludge as it will change with gcc versions. This is my first bug report, i hope it is clear enough. i am happy to supply more info if needed. I tried looking to see if it was a duplicate bug, but i dont think it is, although the process was a bit opaque to me. Thank you for being debian.
