Package: postfix Version: 2.2.2-1 Followup-For: Bug #304559
I definitely think postfix shouldn't be spitting out warnings for such a harmless situation -- not only is it confusing (and annoying) for users to see them, but they confuse other software as well. For instance, Emacs uses the /usr/lib/sendmail command to send outgoing email, and if there's any output from it, thinks that maybe there was an error and considers the message to not have been sent (although in the current case, it was really sent). Maybe Emacs should notice that all output lines begin with "warning:" and not be so paranoid in that case, but .... people really, _really_ hate to lose email, so I think it's understandable that MUAs default to be being paranoid.
