Package: dbconfig-common Version: 1.8.35 Severity: normal When I run dpkg-reconfigure package, to change the default settings (like the db name), dbconfig-common does not prompt for the db admin-user password and so fails with a message like this:

If I then select the option to retry again, I'm prompted the same questions and it works fine. I'm not sure if dbconfig-common pulls the root password from the debconf database or why it works on the second attempt.
