Sorry about the delay. And thanks for letting me know about this. Yes, I think it does have something to do with the protocol change introduced in v1.3. Even 1:1.1.3.0-4 is unable to skip, and that's only from 3 months ago. I'm guessing that they recently decided to chuck compatibility with older players.
