Modifications to the core (or massive code duplication or monkey
patching) would be needed to make this extension work with 0.9.4 (or
even with the current hg-stable tree).

0.9.5 based on hg-stable was planned for July, but since some
projects using Mercurial as a library reported problems with
demandimport, we decided to postpone the release until this is
solved.

These problems are already solved in the main development tree, but
since this required some restructuring (to resolve circular
references) backporting this to the stable tree would be hard.

So we decided to stabilize the development tree and cut a release
based on it "soon", hopefully in September.

Regards,
Thomas
