Alexander, thanks for the reply - it's German and US-English and I was trying to write sth. in English. Cannot tell though whether I had already switched on the English dict. or whether it found everything English noteworthy because it checked in German - I think it was the latter because I didn't even get as far as changing the language of the spellchecker before TB/ID froze or was killed by me.
