Hmm, I installed the package from stable on my etch system at home and wasn't able to reproduce it, in neither resolution I have available there, 800x600, 1024x768, 1152x768. Do you mind if we close the bugreport, versioned to 1.2.6? Given that you say it doesn't appear anymore with that version to you and that we aren't able to pin it down/fix it for stable I don't see much sense in keeping the bugreport opened.
