Here is what I do:
1. Start iceweasel from terminal window
2. Click on menu item Edit/Preferences
3. Click on the Privacy tab
In the cookies section, Accept cookies from sites is checked, and Keep until:
is "ask me every time".
4. Click the "Exception..." button in the cookies section.
5. Site www.aitsafe.com has initial status of "Allow"
6. Type www.aitsafe.com in the "Address of web site:" text field.
7. Click the allow for session button.
8. At this point, the site list in the bottom part shows that the change
has taken place.
9. Click Close
10. Back to the preferences tab, click the "Exceptions..." button (like step
4 above) again.
11. The setting for www.aitsafe.com has flipped back to "Allow".
In summary, I can't seem to change any of the cookie exception settings. This
has the net effect of making me have to login everytime to certain websites
because I can't make the cookies stay past the end of the session.
I checked my profile directory, and it shows the last time modified changing
exit iceweasel.
