Package: elinks Version: 0.10.4-1 Severity: important Latest Debian ELinks build gives me:
Permission to run this program as root user was disabled at compile time. It seems like someone had this awful idea to compile Debian ELinks build with --enable-no-root. Please either remove this, or add something like "This is Debian's fault. Get your own ELinks from http://elinks.or.cz/ to fix the issue." to the message, so that we stop getting bands of unhappy users hitting us, likely to get worse when it bubbles through to testing. I think it makes ELinks unusable to a large degree in its area. I have let the --enable-no-root switch to go in in the upstream mainly since I thought that noone sane who knows what is he doing will enable it. Apparently, I was wrong. :/ Thanks, -- Petr "Pasky" Baudis Stuff: http://pasky.or.cz/ C++: an octopus made by nailing extra legs onto a dog. -- Steve Taylor -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
