hmmm I was a bit quick in my last answer, I see you use the pdnsd in stable, not unstable, and the debconf configuration does not exists yet. Sorry I missed that. Though to make the default configuration work, you have to use resolvconf. Resolvconf is recommended in unstable/testing hence will be pulled by default, and then the default configuration should work out from the box for most systems around. This is hence fixed. Note that I did pdnsd backports available on www.backports.org with a more recent pdnsd, and better default configurations.
