Another example of the same thing: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# apt-get dist-upgrade ... Retrieving bug reports... Done grave bugs of gimp (2.2.4-2 -> 2.2.6-1) <done> #302314 - i can't install gimp : wrong dependencies grave bugs of libgtk2.0-bin (2.6.2-4 -> 2.6.4-1) <done> #302213 - libgtk2.0-bin: undefined symbol: g_assert_warning Are you sure you want to install/upgrade the above packages? [Y/n/?/...]
Both of these bugs were user errors and have been closed. The worst thing is that in the case of the openoffice bugs, apt-listbugs actually discouraged the user from upgrading to the version with the bug fix! (openoffice.org already installed) [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# apt-get install openoffice.org ... grave bugs of openoffice.org (1.1.3-8 -> 1.1.3-9) <done> #304412 - CAN-2005-0941: "OpenOffice DOC document Heap Overflow" Merged with: 304469 #304808 - openoffice.org: Security vulnerability in opening .doc files Summary: openoffice.org(2 bugs) Are you sure you want to install/upgrade the above packages? [Y/n/?/...] Both of these were _fixed by_ 1.1.3-9. This is with apt-listbugs version 0.0.48, which is in both unstable and testing. Our Boss says so.
