'Edit>Preferences' lacks a setting for which email client the
'mailto:' tag opens. On my system clicking a 'mailto:' does
nothing.
There is an option under
'Extension>Preferences>Use_External_Apps>Mailer', but it doesn't seem to
work on my system. Online there are various pages advising puzzled
users to try an undocumented 'about:config' hack, involving long
registry keys, e.g.:

(Their tweak also didn't work on my system.)

Note: setting the 'mailto' client is basic, so this isn't a "wishlist".
Common and conceptually simple tasks shouldn't require registry hacks.
